Afternoons are filled with hands-on experiences and field trips. Every afternoon and all day Friday, Explorers are divided into Activity Teams, with each team being named after an historical African American author (learn more about our Activity Teams). Each week, Explorers come face-to-face with the things they are reading and hearing about as the weekly themes unfold. Busses carry them to explore some of Oklahoma’s best educational resources, and the other afternoons are packed with visiting experts, great experiences and creative projects.

After returning from their field trip on Fridays, Explorers relax with popcorn and a movie on the big screen to finish off their fun-filled week!
